As an ML engineer, I develop and deploy models that identify anomalies with computer vision techniques. Experienced in healthcare and financial fraud domains.

My professional work has focused on disease detection with medical images, operational optimizations with hosptial data, and money laundering detection across transaction and customer profile data.

Early Career

After studying physics at James Madison University, I joined Teach For America, working as an educator in the largest public school in New Haven, Connecticut. As a physics teacher, I refined my ability to elucidate complex ideas in a manner that's accessible to all stakeholders.

I'm inspired by my former students, mentors, and community leaders to operate in a manner that empowers others to usher good into their pockets of their community.

  • Developing models for dental disease detection, classification, and characterization to improve quality and access of dental care.
  • Building and integrating deep learning models into current software products.

    • Data Scientist Consultant, Bank of America

  • Led model development on three interacting deep neural networks, which improved money laundering identification by 25% AUC score compared to the previous BoA AML modeling system.
  • Built demos and delivered presentations across branches of the bank to educate other teams on deep learning topics, identify opportunities for collaboration, and advocate for funding.

  • Developed Torch model and Flask app that classifies chest x-rays and returns similar images from a COVID+ database using cosine similarity.
  • Enlisted and advocated for radiologists to incorporate data scientists within their own practice; Created and presented tools for clinicians to implement machine learning algorithms at their facilities.

  • Led discourse-driven, modeling physics classes for Wilbur Cross High School, largest public high school in New Haven. Grew physics enrollment by 300% over 3 years.
